Ok, I don't know where to put this thread so, if any moderator can move this one I will apreciate it, thanxs... but here we go...

I have a clamshell iBook (not firewire) and I just want to know if there is a software or a hack that let you upgrade your monitor view from 800 x 600 to let say 1024 x 740 or something... I love my ibook but I would like to have more screen space...

Am I tripping or it can be done?

no, unfortunately. LCD panels have a native resolution and are incapable of any higher resolutions.

You could always use Quartz Debug to set the interface resolution to half what it usually is. You'll lose a bit of detail but you'll get more real estate!

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

I don't recommend messing with the UI resolution. There's a reason it's not enabled yet: tons of drawing glitches. It wreaks havoc on some patterns.
