I am using iMovie with grade 8 students. They are making movie trailors from preselected .mov clips. I would like it if they could add their voice but somehow enhance or manipulate it.

Any free recommendations?

Not even sure where to click. I was in for a quick look but couldn't figure it out.

In Garageband, add a new track, make it "natural instrument" --> "voice", and then, in the resulting dialog box, play around with compression, delays, chorusing, and various other effects, to taste.

The effects are not recorded with the voice, so you can change settings later on at will by simply clicking on the track name at left and then getting info on the track ("i" button, IIRC)
