They definitely made some speed improvements. It is almost twice as fast on my 12" PowerBook 867. I am really happy that this now Tiger Compatible. It makes my job much easier.

refresh me again. in what cases do i need the bootable cd-rom DW.

is it when your disc is so bad that you can not boot the HD?

I'll need to order the cd-rom update as my current DW disc is a year and a half old and I just bought an alu PB so you KNOW that it won't boot that sucker up.

Better to take a little longer in the case of something like DW than have them rush out a substandard issue. They likely waited for a store-bought copy to verify matters.

I agree, but the upgrade CD was out a couple of days after the release of Tiger.

Either way I'm not terribly upset by this since DW has saved my tail so many times to count. I was just saying that they posted that the updater would be out the first week of May and it's already beyond that by at least a week.

Seriously, if being a little late is what it took to make DiskWarrior solid on Tiger instead of flaky Ã* la Norton, then to Alsoft.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

True. I'm not complaining that it was late just making a comment that it was about time the released it. I would rather have them make it solid than flaky for sure. DW is too important.

I'm disappointed that by using the original install disk (3.0) the update still creates a dikk that will not boot my June 04 G5. Until BootCD is updated for Tiger I'm still out of luck.

Well that was the case last year when I bought the G5 and found out that it would cost me $20 for them to send me a disk. I thought it might be because it was a new CPU etc. and they didn't want to go through the trouble of updating their download update. Guess I was wrong, they just want the $20! Well Boot CD has worked for a year, so I'll just wait for it to be updated.

Yeah, when you create the CD it will ask you what other apps you want to put on it. Pretty simple.

It's fast? Good grief! It's twice as slow as 3.0.2. But, at least it's available. Fixed tons of cracked files on my dual 2.5 and 2 Powerbooks.
