While I’ve read various reports of issues with Office 2004 and Tiger, I've seen nary a word on anyone's experiences using Office v.X.
As you may easily assume, I've not upgraded to 2004 (v.X is still working just fine under Panther for me) and I'm curious if upgrading to Tiger will necessitate installing 2004.
If anyone has any info on this I’d really appreciate the insight.
TIA.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

I'm running Tiger and Office v.X and I am having no problems. I use Word and Excel routinely. I do not use PowerPoint or Entourage, so I cannot comment on those. I hope this helps.
Have fun... Tony.

I use Word v.X permanently. I've upgraded to 10.4 from 10.2.8. Everything seems to work fine. The only vague annoyance is that in Exposé, if you show all windows in Word (F10) they all line up in one row across the middle of the screen. Obviously if you have nine or so windows open if would be better if they spread themselves all over the screen in several rows. I presume though that this was an 'issue' under Panther anyway, so won't come as a surprise to you. Apart from this niggle, all is well.

That's certainly a strange one. It does not happen with me, though. I just opened about ten documents in Word and they "exposéd" normally. Computers... They are strange things at times.
Have fun... Tony.

All the Office v.X work fine for me also.
On the Expose thing - if all the windows are the same height and width and the tops of the windows are level, Expose will put them in a row regardless of what application you're in. If you open Safari, hit Cmd-N a few times to create some windows and then hit F10, the Safari windows will all appear in a straight line.

That would explain that one! Thanks. I always use 'Arrange All' to fill the screen, so all windows are the same size.

Office 2004 is a pile of Dog Crap!
I support about 300 Macs. After a few office 2004 upgrades and the amount of problems they caused, we stopped support for Office 2004.

I just booted up my computer at the Kodak Cannes Booth 20 minutes after shutting down in my Hotel room and when I started Entourage X under Tiger allof my data was gone. It gave me a new set up screen and I couldn't locate my previous data. I have rebuilt the data base under typical and advanced and still no emails and no responses. Can anyone offer some advice. The odd thing is that my wife's data under her Mac identity is untouched.

Did you try trashing the Entourage preferences file?
Also, try this... create a new account and copy your Microsoft User Data folder to the Documents folder in the new account. Launch Entourage and see if it recognizes the data. If it does, then you know there's something hinky in your user library.
