I've been using Mail for a number of years now. Before the Account switching option from 10.3 I had to create various mailboxes for different members of my family under my account. Now that each person has his/her own OSX account I've deleted those from my Mail environment. But for some reason, I still have some "residue" from these old accounts.
On top of that, our ISP changed once and I've added a .Mac account. This has moved things from iMap to POP or something to that effect. All of this has created a very messy bunch of accounts and mailboxes, most of which are not valid anymore, yet still appear even though I have deleted them. I also have one mailbox which claims that I have 143 messages in it but when I open it, no messages are there.
Is there a way to have Mail.app do some internal cleaning and go through all mailboxes to verify that they are valid? A spring cleaning utility for Mail if you will...
Thank you for any help.
