FireFox crashes every single time I open it. I deleted Preferences file, I got rid of the FireFox folder from within the Application Support folder to... still no luck.

Any ideas what else might be crashing FF?

Just for the record... I finally figured out what was causing the problem. I must have installed the MRJ Java plugin a while back and forgot about it. It was in my ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder. After removing it, FireFox can start up now and seems to run just fine.

Have you tried an updated version?

Has anyone come up with a better solution on this? My firefox refuses to even run for more than about 5 seconds before crashing . Tiger with the latest updates. I have no plug-ins at all so that is not the problem. I am about ready to re-install back to Panther. this is very frustrating!
update: for some strange reason when I accidentally installed a spanish version of Firefox, it worked fine with no crashes! strange.

The first step when troubleshooting Firefox is to remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox folder. You probably just have a corrupt (or incompatible) preference file somewhere.
