I don't know if it is the new vesion of iTunes or the new version of Quicktime, but QT now stores cached videos as a special temp file that can't simply be renamed and dropped to the desktop. I'm crushed, because I loved to download those videos- now I have to watch them small sized through the crappy iTunes window, and I have to waste bandwidth each time I do it.

There's some workarounds. Automator World has a workflow to capture new videos.

Do tell more. Is Automator World a website or a piece of the Automator program?

i found the one at automatorworld. it's neat. but too many questions for my liking.

the source code is included; which is very nice.
my quiet version:
* part one you can delete (reminds you to copy the link)
* part 3. choose a folder where you want them downloaded to. click options and uncheck "show action when run"
* part 4 delete (asks if you want to play the movie)
* part 5 delete (plays the movie)

file > save as an application. put it in your applications folder and you can call it up using spotlight/quicksilver. all you have to do now is copy the url, call up the app and wait.

I just visited it for the first time. Nice work. Handsome, stylish, nice content and it validates!

Search macosxhints, where people discovered this problem, and a fix, before Tiger even came out.
