Rumor on the street is that Cisco has updated their VPN client to work with Tiger. Can anyone confirm a working copy? Can anyone send me a copy? (I'm the only mac user in a Windows shop, so getting me a copy is not at the top of anyone in ITs list of things to do this month). I'm assuming sending me a copy is not bad karma since Cisco gives the previous version, and I'm assuming this version, away for free. Right?

There is a prerelease available if you know where to look, but it doesn't work on dual-processor machines yet.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

Throw me a bone. I don't know where to look. I thought I did, but no.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this only runs on single-proc Macs so far:

Cisco has released a new version (4.6.03) which runs on all single-CPU Tiger (OS X 10.4) systems.
Cheers.

Cheers.

I only have a single proc. machine, so I can't personally verify this, but I have heard that there are still some problems (kernel panics) with this version with dual proc. machines. There might also be problems with maintaining certain types of connections through the VPN (I think it's only if you're connecting from a mac to a mac, but again, not my situation, so I cannot confirm). It appears to be working for me so far when using it to connect to my VPN and running M$ Remote Desktop from a single proc. powerbook running 10.4.1

Hope that helps.

I've downloaded the 4.6.03 release and am trying to connect but it does not seem to work. It will authenticate to our VPN but mail and things won't work. I can't ping our internal IP addresses either. Also on the VPN clients status bar it does not show any bytes being based through. I am using the same configuration that I did in 10.3 and that had worked fine. I'm currently on 10.4.1 although I had the same problems with 10.4, I have 12" Powerbook 1.33 G4.

Also it won't disconnect or quit. I have to force quit it. That corrupts it somehow and forces me to do a reinstall. The reinstall does get the client opening again and back to where I was but nothing more from there.

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

OK, this is weird...

One weird thing I did discover though, it that, get this, when I try to get the CISCO VPN working and it fails it allows the built in MAC VPN to connect to our Windows VPN to start working. The Windows VPN will work all the time for email but I can't access web pages. If I start the Cisco VPN after it does not work and I start the windows VPN I can access web pages. Is that some weird stuff or what?! I can only guess that the cisco vpn must open some sort of tunnel. The interesting thing is that this condition survives disconnects from the network, putting my laptop to sleep everything but a complete reboot or shutdown. Which I had to do today because of a security update to mac os. Upon rebooting I could no longer access the web pages, but email worked. Tried the cisco VPN, it didn't work. Tried the windows vpn and I could start browsing web pages again, even though the cisco VPN does not appear to be running. -george

According to versiontracker there is a new one out. Can someone tell me if

(a) they know a download place

(b) it fixes the problems with not saving proxy setting

Thanks - Michael
