I may be one of the few who actually like the new mail interface, but something is driving me crazy. Mail.app used to have a "status" message near the top of the window, Something like "connecting to .mac server" or "sending messages...". It seems this is no longer in 2.0.

I especially used to like the percentage display to see how far along you were in sending a large email. I have tried checking the prefs, but can't figure out where it is, is it really gone??

As far as I know, yes. I really miss having the total number of messages and mailbox size too.

This is something I miss as well. Silly really to remove that feature. (yes I know I can open the activities window my nerdy co-users so please don't suggest it)

cheers

WOW, I kinda hoped someone would point out my stupidity, and explain how to turn it on. I did not expect you all to agree!

Why would they remove this feature? VERY bad move in my book.

PS- Anyone know the "official" name of this status message so I can properly refer to it when I send feedback to Apple??
