I put office 2004 on my ibook and everything works fine but when I go to save the file I type in word it says it will only be compatible with word 2003 or less. And then when I got to open it on my WIN XP Dell from my jump drive it wont let me. Why is this?
Does it matter if USB Drives are formatted for PC or Mac? If so, that could be the problem and it may have nothing to do with Word at all. Maybe try emailing it to yourself and see if it will work on the Dell.
You must be using some features of Word 2004 that don't exist in Word 2003. In 2004 Hit Tools -> Compatibility Report then "Check Document". 2004 will tell you what features you are using which aren't supported by the old version.
