I'm a switcher coming back to Mac after 10 years, and wanted to know what people think are the must have software, utlilities for Mac 10.4?

I just bought new iMac, and Office 2004... Any other great utilities, nice programs out there?

- Is there a good telephony one out there? Would like to get ride of my answering machine, and switch it to Mac. (vs. buying a new one).

- Free *.pdf Creator?
- Virus - do I need software?
- System Utilities?
- Yahoo type messenger? How can I keep my Yahoo messenger id?

Any other great ideas out there?

Built-in to OS X.

If you write any language besides English, then Mellel is your best bet for word processing.

If you need a page layout program, there is a high-end program called RagTime Solo, that is free for personal use. It includes a very good word processor, spreadsheet, layout, and slide show presentation.
