just updated tiger10.4.1 on my 1.67 512ram 15"pb yesterday.
and what i found is that it takes more than 10 secs when i (commandN) creat a new file in illustrator CS. but after that if everything works just fine. no delay when open or creat a new file in Ai CS.
wondering if this happens to anyone? or maybe i need more ram on my pb.

any input is much appreciated.

Illustrator CS on my 10.4.1 install does the same thing when opening a new document. Takes a looong time. Illustrator 10 does not do this.

Also, be sure to check the ACIB box in clipboard preferences. If you don't and you try to copy and paste between applications you will get crashes and lock ups. This pleasant little change in Tiger left me floundering for a while.

Anyway, the short of it is that Illustrator CS SUCKS IMO.

I hope CS2 is better...

I also encountered this problem after Tiger installation and was quite frustrated.

Following the steps at http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/326388.html which involved deleting the AdobeFnt07.lst files and creating a default printer (I didn't have one set up yet) has helped significantly.

The first instance of opening a new document is still pretty laggy, but at least tolerably so. Hope this helps!

Illustrator CS doesn't suck. It worked fine in Panther. This is a new OS.

CS2 works great in Tiger BTW.
