Notice that iChat and AIM are not included in the poll. I am interested in how everyone thinks the instant messaging apps besides these two compare to each other. Feel free to explain why you voted the way you did.

I was using fire cuz it is simple and I like the icon. Now that iChat supports jabber I got rid of fire and MSN messenger.

I liked Adium when I used to use it. However, I've preferred iChat for some time now.
"You rise," he said, "like Aurora."

I prefer Adium, although that's hardly surprising since I contribute to it

It is pretty clear that Adium is the winner. So what does Adium have that the others don't? What makes it preferred over the other apps? Thanks.

Yeah Adium is still the way to go when wanting to do the multi IM thing.

I was excited when I heard iChat was going to be able to do it, then disappointed to see it required you to have TWO iChat windows open, and the support was dodgy at best.

By the way, if you have issues you'd like to see fixed in Adium, we've set up a bug/issue tracking system; You can find our guidelines for new tickets here: http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/BugWritingGuidelines and the "new ticket" button should be easy enough to find from there

Adium has my vote. I love the interface, not intrusive, minimal...

stuffing feathers up your b*tt doesn't make you a chicken.
