Hello all.

I used to draw a lot. But I have never used art software. I took some industrial design (auto design) classes at Art Center a LONG time ago, but still have all my stuff and love to just sketch when I have time. I did not pursue my talent because I got distracted flying.

I really want to try to get into software that can help me EASILY translate my sketches onto the screen.

Is it possible to scan some of my old drawings into the Mac, then use software to enhance it? Probably a dumb question!

So what application would you professionals out there recommend? I would like something that is easier to learn than hard to learn.

I won't be getting into business with this, it is only for fun and I want to use my Mac for more stuff.

I suppose those Wacom tablets will help? Can you actually sketch on those things? And then use tools to tighten up the lines?

Anyway, I appreciate any suggestions.

Get Painter IX. I think they have a basic version available for free or cheap. I just read a test where a computer-illiterate art-student was given a wacom-tablet and Painter. He took eight hours learning how to act naturally with it, and now he loves it.

I just found this app: Alias SketchBook Pro. $200. Downloaded the demo and it is very cool. Now I gotta get a Wacom.

I will try the Painter demo.

Thanks!
