Not being a Windows user, I have no idea what Fruity Loops is like, but if it's a loop-based audio app, why don't you try GarageBand -- it came with your iMac.

I'm a bit sceptical to any company that puts weird videos in their official help files. I once wrote to them about it, saying also that though I would try the demo in VPC I'd probably not buy it and I got accused of piracy in response. Ironically it didn't even run in VPC.

That help-file instantly turned me off this company for ever. Hmmm. What's so magically good about FruityLoops (obviously named after whoever wrote the help) anyway? Between GB, Soundtrack Pro and Logic versions you'd think most bases should be covered.

Ive never looked at the help file... What makes FruitlyLoops so cool, I think is how its set up. This is pretty tough to explain... But its very intuitive, and makes 100% true random humanization a breeze. I mean, the humanization is defferent every time you hit play, so its just like having a real drummer. Of course you have to have good samples and whatnot but whatever...

I cant see the video cause I cant play wmv's...

But i fully understand being turned off by a companys stuff. I will never buy from Descreet. Their ad campaign was bad enough, and then handing out "descreet" labeled condoms at SIGGRAPH? hah forget it, dude. I'll save some extra coin and get maya.

So uh. could you guys describe to me exactly whats so bad in that video, seeing as how I cant watch it?

That's a really old parody, too. But yeah, linking to that is entirely unprofessional.

It's a parody of the "Switch" campaign about how much Macs suck. It's kind of confusing, though, because some of the things it describes seem to be from OS 9 (files dragged to the desktop from a disk aren't copied, apps lock up the entire system) and some of them are from OS X (the Dock pops up if you move your mouse to the bottom of the screen).

well thats pretty [crappy], and very unprofessional... oh well. Unfortunately, at this point I cant avoid using the program when I record... Those parodies are some of the [crappiest] things ive ever seen. The one I saw (about games) couldnt even get the BG actually white. Of course if they had a Mac, it would be a snap. (dumbsh!ts). Well it doesnt matter--everyone knows that for professional sound and video, Macs rule. For all those amatuers and wannabes out there, I guess the mac-bashing videos are the only consolation they have. losers.

i just cant use Garageband to make instrumentals... you have to be precise to keep everything in rhythm... there may be a way to do it in Garagband but in fruityloops, you just kind of click where you want that sample to play and what note and it kind of keeps it in rhythm for you... its hard to explain unless you have used it.. but if anyone knows what im talkin about and how to do it in garageband let me know... i basically wanna make some instrumentals and it is hard to have to do the drum part and keep it in rhythm... anyone understand what im talkin about or am i just not making any sense?
