Is there a program that will let you copy text as soon as you highlight it?

Hit command-C as soon as you highlight the text.

The dictionary popup doesn't work with command-c. I've filed a bug report about this, and it was marked as a dupe, so they know about it.

Simply highlight the text you want to copy, then hold down command and drag it to where you want it. You can't copy it, but you can drag it to another window or the desktop.

Oh, I misunderstood.
As a workaround, if you hit "More...", it'll open the entry in Dictionary.app.

Well, thanks for all the suggestions, but I am not talking about THE dictionary.. It's another dictionary application... I was thinking of avoiding the Command+C command.. Yeah, THAT lazy
I am sure there's an app that does that.. I just have to search better...

at least for browsers,
safari will allow instant lookups with the context menu (ctrl+click)
and theres also an extension called autocopy (I think) that does exactly what you want in firefox.

:: frankenstein / lcd-less TiBook / 1GHz / radeon 9000 64MB / 1GB RAM / w/ext. 250GB fw drive / noname usb bluetooth dongle / d-link usb 2.0 pcmcia card / X.5.8
:: unibody macbook pro / 2.4 Ghz C2D / 6GB RAM / dell 2407wfp - X.6.3

Thank you, Sarc! Auto Copy is exactly what I needed in Firefox! Now, if only I can find a similar extension for Safari, or, even better, as a system-wide, global preference!
Here's the link to AutoCopy for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/extension...nfo.php?id=383

So, no one can suggest a technique for Safari then?

I like this idea. |It'd be really useful to have this system wide as I'm always copying stuff in all applications.
