I've been trying to use Firefox and/or Safari to work with music sites such as mtv.com, vh1.com, cmt.com, etc. and as it turns out Windows Media Player runs with a certain rule that Apple has not jumped on board with, and as a result mac's "aren't allowed"...and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to bypass those regulations that are in place to gain access to media such as music videos. I know the Itunes music store has videos, but it's not a grand collection. Is there any way to hack either browser I use (Firefox/Safari) to gain access? thank you very much in advance for any suggestions! (Virtual PC isn't an option - unless one of you guys has a valid .dmg or .sit file you'd like to send my way! - tried the torrent sites and limewire, but all empty files)
btw: as a sort of pledge of allegiance to the mac community, I thought I'd give a bit of my Apple history. 4 years ago I bought a spanking new iBook g3 700mhz, and after two years it was bogged down and I was tired of waiting. Though I wanted to purchase a new apple, I couldn't afford it, so I bought a cursed Dell Dimension 3000 for less money than I sold my iBook for, which I thought was grand, with all the extras and upgrades, but after 6 months of the drone of the box's fan, I recently decided to ditch XP for a refurbished Powerbook G4 1.5ghz 64mb vram w/ 3rd-party-seller-Samsung DDR2700 1gb stick with tiger, panther, AND os 9 shipped in the box (as well as a 30-day trial of iWork which hasn't got the greatest reviews and thus I have not installed any progs from the disc yet. Well, I'm loving Tiger, and loving having a quiet, non-crashing, beautiful 15" Apple powerhouse (ok, it's no powermac but I love it therefore I brag). And there's the scoop, again, your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
