SW update, 27 Megs,

QuickTime 7.0.1 provides several important bug fixes, a security enhancement, and improved compatibility with Final Cut Studio. This update is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users. For detailed information on the security enhancement, please visit this website:

http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n61798

Important Notice to QuickTime Pro Users
Installation of QuickTime 7 will disable the QuickTime Pro functionality in prior versions of QuickTime, such as QuickTime 5 or QuickTime 6. If you proceed with this installation, you must purchase a new QuickTime 7 Pro key to regain QuickTime Pro functionality. Does it fix the bugs related to minimizing movie windows?

musicman, are you talking about the one that when you minimize a window, it won't come back?
if so, do you have two help menus in quicktime? if so, i think it is divx and not quicktime. take a look on the divx.com forums. they are talking about it there. and unfortunately, do not seem to have an eta on a new divx.

From the Divx Forum:

I have an update on the QuickTime 7 issues.

It appears many of the bugs are caused by a memory limit in the QuickTime 7 MP3 decoder. Apple has kindly addressed this issue and will release the fix in the next version of QuickTime 7.

When that is exactly is unclear.
The QT 7.0.1 update seems to be nothing more than a security fix

Playback does seem smoother for me (iBook 500, FFusion Xvid decoder) but it has fooled me before. I'll keep trying videos and see if my problems come back.

Rather large file size for a security fix.

Hmm. QT 7.0.1 isn't showing up in Software Update for me - have had the same problem with 10.4.1. Anyone else not getting updatey goodness?

according to the apple site:

QuickTime 7.0.1 fixes a known bug whereby the end user would "see" 2 Help menus;
this is more a function of the user and not the application itself.

Can anyone walk me through reverting to an older version?
