Was doing some writing in Apple’s Pages program tonight and was marveling at what great layouts some of their page designs would make for blogs. Wouldn’t it be great if in a future revision of Pages, there was a “Publish” command in the toolbar and would sync the Pages document to a webpage? I could see this bringing blogging to the masses; anyone who had ever typed a Word document could easily maintain one. Embedding links could be a problem, but I’m sure there’s a good way to implement them (ex: highlight text/right click/’assign link’). Of course, I know nothing about web publishing, so maybe this whole thing is already being done. In that case, HARRRRRRRRRR. I’ll put on my robe and wizard hat.
cheers,
Nathan

I don't know about that. A blog is a little bit different from a document designed in Pages. Word has been able to save as a Web page for a long time, but it hasn't really taken off as blogging software. Basically, a blog keeps track of many articles (each of which is effectively a separate document) and organizes them into pages. A Pages document would just be an ordinary Web page, not a blog per se.

Anyway, blogging already has been brought to the masses. There is absolutely nothing difficult about setting up a blog with Blogger or LiveJournal — as proven by the gazillions of people who have done so (many of whom are young enough that they may well qualify as fetuses).
