iMac G5 with dual layer drive, iDVD 5, 10.4.1.

Just made an iDVD containing 3 iMovies. Under the "Status" button and Project Size, it shows a DVD Capacity of 4.4 Gb. I click on Burn and it tells me that my project won't fit on a single-layer disk.

Shouldn't a 4.7 Gb disk hold 4.4 Gb of data?

Maybe I am missing something here.

And of course dual-layer disks are not exactly commonplace to find yet.

"4.7 GB" is using the same widespread lie that hard drive manufacturers use (namely that 1 GB = 1000^3 bytes instead of 1024^3 bytes like in reality). "4.7 GB" media actually holds about 4.36 GB of real data.
