It is the code name for Firefox 1.1.

Ah. A bit confusing though... don't see why they need a "code name". Perhaps they're trying to be "cool" like Apple with "Tiger".

The code name's purpose is to keep ma & pa users from downloading the previews/alphas thinking that they're new, final versions of Firefox. The Deerpark versions are intended for developers and testers... not end users.
Once Firefox 1.1 is released, it will be called Firefox 1.1 again... when it's ready for ma & pa to download

Yeah, because Apple is the only company to ever use code names for anything, and they just do it to be "cool".

The 'Deer Park' codename is intended to make it clear that this is not a final release version of Firefox, and should only be used by developers or particularly brave people (noting that there's only one letter's worth of difference between guts and nuts).
That said, I've been following the nightlies and using the opportunity to learn SVG. Firefox's support of the standard is still not quite ready for prime time (it needs all of SVG Tiny at the absolute least) but it gets the job done for basic stuff. I do wish they'd put more effort towards Acid2, though.

Well, if FF 1.1 includes support for CSS 3.x, I'll be a happy man!

They've included a few of the selectors, but that seems to be about it for now. The hell of it is, they aren't yet supporting the nth-* selectors, which are by far the most useful of the lot.

Note the wink-smiley after that sentence.

What are the nth-* selectors, and what makes them useful?

The most basic selector in this group is the nth-child selector. Just as first-child styles the first tag in a group and last-child styles the last, nth-child can style an arbitrary child (or children) in the list. The selector takes an argument (an+b) to determine exactly which children are styled. For example, (2n) styles every even-numbered row.
Note that there are also two special cases: nth-child(odd) and nth-child(even), which style every odd-numbered or even-numbered child respectively. This makes styling alternate rows of a table extremely easy, without any need to juggle classes and such.
There are also selectors like nth-last-child, nth-of-type, and so forth, but to be honest I see nth-child as being the most useful.

I don't know who's seen this, but Safari passes Acid 2. There's a post on Dave Hyatt's blog that details the long development process... Kinda cool.

I'm aware of that, and it's good for Safari to pass the test, but for only one browser to pass doesn't do all that much good. Many browsers have to pass the test before developers can really start being confident in using the standards it deals with. Sadly, it seems to be getting all but ignored by the Gecko folks, who are writing it off as meaningless marketing (never mind how they crowed about the original acid test).
