After Tiger download, Safari spelling not working. I reinstalled Safari, trashed preference, no luck.

You mean the little red squiggles underneath all misspelled words?
Edit -> Spelling -> Check Spelling As You Type

No, I mean the edit Spelling, or command ;
used to bring up box, totally does not work now
