Im very frustrated with Excel "chart" Im using v "X" and its so difficuolt to use and incomplete Im looking for a good free o4r sharware simple graphing program ( MS calls this Chart) you know x and y axis, a string of values in excel etc.

I though the Omnigroup had onw but its really an organixational charting program. i looked in version tracker but didn't get much. Ive always had trouble wording things correctly at VT to get useful info.

thanks rotut

DeltaGraph is a good graphing package for the Mac that has been out forever.

I have been doing extensive charting in MS Excel for 5 years. What is incomplete? have you looked at some of the excellent Excel charting web sites?

Andy Pope's site

Jon Peltier's site

Rob Van Gelder's site

And there are many more. It's amazing what can be done with Excel - I am not promoting MS products. But I know from experience that most people never touch more than the surface of the Excel's capabilities.

Graphing app?

How about Grapher.app (in your /Applications/Utilities folder).

What types of graphs?
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

What great tips!
I used to be better with Chart but have not used it in a while but the tip sites will be helpful. Let me go over them the weekend then Ill ask more detials later.
my needs are simple: Ive started roasting my own coffee with a Cafe Roasto, and have installed a thermometer and keep track of the time/temp for each roast as they vary with bean type and then I make notes to myself on how I like it etc.

minutes = x, temp = y but I cant set the minuets on the x 0 .5 1 1.5 and tthe label is now "minjuntes" when I never typed that in any field!

but great tips so far.

Kristoff I have no grapher app in my utilities folder running 10.3.4.

will look at Delta after I try to do what I have in excel as its realy a simple ting now.

cheers rotuts
