.... besides the awesome performance boost of course, is the addition of navigation controls in the contextual menu.

I use a bluetooth mouse, and this one new "feature" (something that really should have been there all along IMO) has eliminated my need for third party mouse drivers to program my multi-button mouse. I like to be able to go back and forth without taking my hand off the mouse or moving the cursor all the way up to the toolbar to click the buttons ... so previously I would program the extra buttons to these functions on my mouse. Unfortunately, the BT mice with programmable buttons are few and far between. Well this new addition to Safari allows me to do this quite easily without the extra programming ... so now I can use any 2-button scroll-wheel BT mouse with the drivers built-in to the OS and have all the functionality I used to have. I'm sure this isn't breaking news to anyone using Tiger but it's good to acknowledge the positive sometimes in these forums.

It's interesting how different people surf the web in different ways...

I barely use the forward- and backwards button. I hardly even use the left mouse button.

Typically, I select a couple of items from a web page (be it a list of google hits or macnn forums), middle-click (open in a new tab) and "close the window behind me" (i.e. the one with the listing).
recurse!

The thing I miss the most from firefox (except incremental search) is the radial context menu.

Sorry if I went a bit off-topic - didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Aside from the speed factor, the things I enjoy about Safari 2 are the RSS feature (my first foray and I love it now), the ability to easily import photos into iPhoto (nice for blogging and desktops), Private Browsing and the ability email a link to the page or the contents of a page.

I will love Safari 2 once it allows me access to all of the features on my bank site. Even Internet Explorer, over 3 years old, allows that.

I'm compiling a list of the sites that work don't work on Safari, but do work on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Camino. Here's just one:

http://word.mvps.org/

If you're in Safari, the page usually shows up blank, right? How hit Command-R. You may need to hit it a few times (3 to 4 usually works for me), but don't worry, eventually the page shows up. If you click on any link, you need to do the Command-R Dance all over again.

Now go to that http://word.mvps.org/ site using Firefox. Each page shows up immediately.

I've got over 20 pages that glitch in Safari (yes, even the Tiger version) but that work correctly in other browsers. So, no love yet with Safari, but I'm sure it's coming in the next couple years.

How come your contextual menu says 'Back' when mine says 'Go Back'?

If that's causing Apple's Web site not to work for you, sure.
