I tried synching my mail accounts through .mac between two macs and it doesn't work. I still have different folders and messages on both computers. I was hoping to have a mirror image of my preffered mail account sent to the other computer. Am I missing something???

Try syncing to .Mac from both email accounts, then set .Mac to sync with each other. I do it all of the time.

Can you be a little more specific?? I sync thru the .mac system preferences pane; not through an e-mail account so I'm not sure what you mean.
