I recently purchased a Powerbook G4 and installed BlueJ (version 1.2.1) via a disk I had from an old computer science book. However, nothing will compile (the program just says "compiling..." until I click somewhere). My OS is 10.3.8. Are there any similar apps already built into the Mac (I don't have internet access)? I'd just like to write extremely basic programs, primarly dealing with math algorithms and such. I looked at XCode but was completely lost. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: I don't have internet access on my PB, just on the family's desktop PC through dial-up AOL.
Xcode is a bit confusing at first, but it does include templates to help you get started. Just start a New Project (for whatever kind of Java project you want to start) and it gets you all set up to run right away. You can just plug in your code, and do whatever.
