Hello
A friend has had trouble with their cable speeds. is there a utility that can test this or monitor it like the internal modem window does?

Ive found

http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and

http://www.dslreports.com/tools

but was hoping someone knows of an actual utility that can sit on the desktop and test from time to time.

thanks rotuts

I don't know of any application that will test line speeds, though Activity Monitor will give you plenty of network info including current transfer speeds. I usually use BroadbandReports (a.k.a. DSLreports) or my ISP's online utility to test speeds if I need to.

Have you looked for a widget to fill the desired role?
