Isn't there a plist or something to delete that will reset the prefs of the terminal?

Uh...com.apple.Terminal.plist, perhaps? Unless you mean programs that are run through Terminal, which would be a separate matter.

Just delete it with Terminal not running. A reboot would only be useful if Terminal were always running in the background.
