Trying to configure tiger mail so that Incoming mail comes from psu.edu and outgoing goes out .mac. I'd also like emails that people get from me, to say they came from my psu.edu accoutn so they are sending back to that.

I am having trouble configuring the mailboxes in this manner. I made 2 accounts in the mail program, one (.mac) is able to accept incoming and send, the other is able to accept incoming but can't send out (due to server restrictions I think).... but when i send out the .mac, the emails say from .mac

I know on a pc, in outlook i can change the displayed email address for the account, i also know that on a regular pop account, i can change this info as well. but on the .mac account it gives me the following restrictions

1) if i change the "email address" field, it changes it back
2) if i set a different incoming server/username than my .mac, it is unable to send mail
3) the only way to set a reply-to property is per message.

I'm thinking that .mac is complicating this with its security restrictions, but i guess it could be the mail application.

Also, I learned about emai aliases on .mac, which would be PERFECT but they have to end in .mac.

Basicall I'm worried that friends will "learn" my new .mac email address and then i am now stuck using .mac for a long time.
