iTunes: importing CD's

I have the new version of iTunes (4.9) and when I load a CD it reads it as Track 1, Track 2, etc. How come it doesn't tell me the artist and song title like other programs do?

Insert CD. Open iTunes.

iTunes > Advanced > Get CD Track Names

I figured out it was because i wasn't connected to the internet.
