It seems after running one of the prompted updates my Word no longer works. It acts as if it is going to open, shows the logo, owner info, etc. but then it pends there indefinately. Sometimes I receive a timeout error. Any way to fix?

Thanks

Open FontBook, highlight all of your fonts and then in the Menubar (not sure which heading) select validate all fonts. Finish that and see if that helps.

Trash a plist file in your preferences in your user library.

Thank you for your reply. I selected all the fonts, but I do not have any option to validate all fonts. I have:

Are you using Tiger? The latest FontBook? Validate fonts is right below Remove Fonts in the File Menu of the Tiger version of FontBook.

I am assuming you have the disk for Office. If you still have problems, call MS.

I am not using Tiger. I do not have the discs. I bought the computer from my friend who got a new G4.

Is there a way I can validate them on pre-Tiger OSX?
