I would like to use my .Mac email as my primary non-school email, and as such, I would like my iTMS songs to be registered with that email (rather than an Adelphia email that has recently been shut off). I can't find a way to transfer my songs from one account to another, though...and I can't very well change the email ID of my current account to my .Mac email, as that "already exists." Any suggestions?

I think all you need to do is open a new ITMS account with your .Mac email. There is no limit to the number of accounts you can have. The songs purchased with your adelphia email address will always be registered to that ITMS account.

Can't you just go in to the iTunes Account area, and change your email address?
in iTunes -> Music Store -> Account button (upper right, below the search menu)
Mine only uses my .Mac user name, but it gives an email address as an example.
Can you change that Adelphia email to your .Mac email?

No, because it says that the .Mac email already exists.

Did you try just using your member name, without the "@mac.com"?
Since your Mac ID is already an Apple ID (I think) I would have thought it would take it.
If not, an email to Customer Service can probably get it switch.
Otherwise, if you create a new account, to authorize another computer down the road, you'll have to remember the old password, etc. Without access to that email, you'd be out of luck should you forget it.

Don't create a new user. If you do that and buy any music on it, you won't be able to access your other purchased music. Contact iTMS help and explain the situation to them. I'm sure you are not the first person asking for this kind of help.

I can appreciate that you think a new user would add complexity. But you're wrong about accessing the music. There is no limit to the number of accounts that can play music on one computer. If he creates a new account, he will continue to have full access to his other purchased music, using the original username and password.

Thanks for the help, guys. I sent two messages to Apple.com support: The page asked for my iTunes email ID, and I didn't want them to send back an email only to my Adelphia account (which I can't check). If I have problems, I'll bump the thread.
