I have Ashlar-Vellum's Graphite 7.4.4 and I am trying to open files from a networked mac as I have done for years and now all of a sudden I cannot open them unless I copy them to my computer first. When I db-click them when they are on the shared drive they just put you into the application but the file does not open. When I copy the file to my computer it opens right up? There are no other applications that this happens with. I have tried Word, Excel, FileMaker, McCad Schematics, McCad PCB-ST, Acrobat, Graphicconverter, Photoshop, and many others and yet only Graphite has this problem. I even spoke to a tech at Ashlar and they have no idea what it could be. I have even loaded Graphite onto a Mac mini and it can't open them either. I brought in my Powerbook from home and it has the same trouble. I even tried to reverse the direction by putting a bunch of files on the mini and opening them from the G4 tower and had no luck. I have tried to repair permissions, but everything was fine. But...I found that when I copied some files to our windows XP server's drive and accessed it that way they open right up??? Why would they open from a windows server and not from one Mac to another? I am at a total loss here. I have never seen anything like this ever in my 12+ years as a Mac user. If anyone has and idea or theory, I'm listening. Thank You.
