There are some lectures I found on a web site that I'd like to save for later viewing. They are posted in a Real Audio streaming format. Is there a way to save the entire video stream for future viewing? If so, how?

If you can play the stream in Mplayer I think you can save it. Not sure how to do it in the GUI, but in the CLI you use -dumpstream.

To get the CLI app, show package contents on Mplayer, navigate to Resources/mplayer, show package contents on that and navigate to Mac OS/mplayer. Open a Terminal window, drop mplayer on it and then write -dumpstream followed by the url of the stream.

That's the only way to do it on Mac OS X, AFAIK. There are a couple of tools on the Windows side if you've got a PC/VPC.

WireTap installs a kernel extension, and it's not clear (to me) how to uninstall it. The FAQ is empty. If mplayer works, that is probably faster and easier in the long run, than trying to figure out kernel extensions.

Wiretap comes with an uninstaller. I like this program because it's easy to use and works fast.
