Is it possible use Mail app to password protect one of my email accounts. It would be one of my extra .Mac email addresses.

If not, what are my options?

Hmm. Well you can, leave out the password for email in the settings and when you check email it will ask you for your .mac password. However this won't prevent someone from reading emails you already downloaded into mail.app. Why don't you lock your login and create a second login that your family and friends can use. Then no-one but you can use your email or mess with any of your settings.

This is the best idea on a shared (or family) Mac - then even web cookies and passwords are kept private. Also, the other users do not need to be admins.
