I have a Treo 650 (Verizon model) and am running 10.4.2

Since 10.4.1, even single time I synch, after it completes normally and the Treo screen says "cleaning up", the Treo does its own soft reset. The log on both the Treo and the Palm Desktop show nothing abnormal. Any suggestions appreciated. I guess no harm in the reset, but why is this happening?

Also any changes made to the calendar on the Palm Desktop erroneously generate an error message that the same appointment was changed on both the Treo and the Mac. Only way to stop this to select Mac overwrites Handheld; which of course defeats true synching. I have verified that this happens with a brand new installation of the Palm Desktop that comes with the installation CD, and with a brand new user on the Mac OS and a brand new calendar. Any suggestions appreciated

Check your installation files in Home > Documents > Palm > User Data > Files To Be Installed. It sounds like there could be a file that is recurrently set to install and might require a reset after installation.

If not that, it could be a conduit that is not compatible with the Treo. You might try disabling any third-party conduits until you can get a sync to work without resetting.

Matt, thanks for your suggestions. I turned off each and every conduit, it still resets with each synch! Any further suggestions appreciated.

I will try to do some experimentation, like backing everything up, doing a hard reset and restore, and see if it still does this. I should also try creating a new user and change the username on my Treo (there is an undocument way of doing this: On the Treo in the Memo application, open a new memo, create an 'upside down fish' by typing "s" and then push the alt key and select the shape that looks like an upside down fish; then type a period, then type a "5" ...believe it or not as soon as you do this, the username is reset to nothing!

I would do two things : update the Palm desktop software if you don't have the latest version of it (check palm's web site).

If updating does not solve your problem, I woul report the issue to Apple using http://bugreport.apple.com or using the iSync feedbakc feature (Just do'nt remember where that "feature" is). I would also repport this to palmone.
