Hi i am using final cut pro 5 HD on a power mac 1.8 ghz single core with 2 gig ram & 250 gig internal + 1tb external.

When i capture the footage (using a Canon MVX25i DV camera), i cannot seem to get full quality of it. I have previously used an app on windoze called Pinnacle Studio, which is a very basic vid editing program but will capture at a much better quality than FCP. This cannot be right, there must be something i am doing wrong, but i cant work it out, even after extensive looking through the FCP mauals.

Any help would be happily recieved

thanks

You'll probably get more help here:

Do you mean it looks rubbish whilst capturing (if so that's normal - don't worry) or does it look rubbish after capturing?

Is it just an interlacing issue?
