I downloaded and installed Links, the terminal-based browser, from here.

http://macosx.forked.net/showcat.php...ortmethod=name

Now, whenever I open Terminal, Links is launched. This is only for my user account. I checked the root account and launched Terminal without any problems. I've looked for some of the typical configuration files in ~/ such as .bashrc, .login, and .profile but with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what I can do?

I'm not the most savy when working in shell, so detailed responses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

This can happen if you use the 'Use as Default Settings' button in the window settings while a process is running in the frontmost window. Bin your preferences - should do the trick.

Can you explain that in stupid person language so that I can understand? Otherwise I'll need to use my friend to translate. Thanks for your quick reply.

Go to Home/Library/Preferences. Delete "com.apple.Terminal.plist".

Thank you very much. That did the trick. I have one more, hopefully quick, question.

Now when I open Terminal, I see this:

Welcome to Darwin!

mpih is my short user name, but where that random jumble of letters is, I used to have my computer name. Is there any way to change this?

Thanks again for all the quick responses.
