My wife makes scrapbook pages and uses Pages for just about everything design-wise. She knows how to do things on Pages that I didn't even know it could do!

One thing she's asked about is how to get text-on-a-curve. I know Illustrator will do this, but that's complete $ overkill for just one feature. Is there another program that would let her do this, and then maybe be able to import the result into Pages?

I believe Microsoft Expression can do this. It's free, by the way, though no longer in development.

Photoshop Elements can do that. It's located under the Layer->Type->Wrap Text menu option (this is the menu location in PSE 2, it may differ in PSE 3). Additionally, PS and PSE are absolutely outstanding image editors, Photoshop being the standard of the industry so to speak.

Fireworks does it... I think you're kinda looking at a major Graphics app for this...

Thanks for the pointers. We have PE3 so thanks for that information. It seems pretty limited with some funky but probably useless effects like "Fish"! It can't wrap text around a circle, for example. But hey it's better than nothing and just doing arcs will be useful so I'll definitely show that to my wife.

I tried Expression and it looks neat but I couldn't figure out how to enable the Text on Path menu items. The Help refused to appear.

Thanks I think she'll be pleased as she uses Photoshop Elements about as much as Pages!
