Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent DOS emulator?

The main things I need are decent speed, network support, and able to print. Just need to map a drive off the network and run an app off of it.

I've heard of BOCHS and WINE but never actually used them. Any advantages to either for running DOS or any other better alternatives? Or should I just stick to VPC?

WINE stands for "WINE Is Not an Emulator." If you're running PPC hardware, WINE will not work period. Even if you were running a PC, it requires Windows dlls and whatnot, so you might as well just run your stuff on Windows.

Bochs and VPC are your only options as far as I know. I haven't used VPC forever, and I've never used Bochs, so all I can say is that VPC is very expensive, and apparently Bochs is very slow.

In my (admittedly limited) experience, Bochs is usable with DOS as long as you're not looking to run gene splicing algorithms or anything. Its slowness really becomes a problem when you're running a GUI.

QEMU is much, much faster than Bochs, and is also free. You might want to look into that.

Also, there's DosBox, which is definitely the easiest to get set up. However, I think it only emulates a 386, so that might limit you, depending on what you're trying to do.

I would second the QEMU suggestion... I have been playing with a MacOSX version called Q which I got to run a copy of Windows 2k on... not fast at all, but usable since I only need it for one simple program... And DOS will probably run pretty well on it... depending on what you are emulating...
