So I'm still partly using my email address from my old college. I have the account set up as IMAP, and I'm having a really annoying problem.

My school is very very microsoft driven (We're in Seattle ) and they have this huge semi-public exchange server full of folder of emails for different departments and events. There are over 1700 folders and 215,000 messages in these folders. Every now and then, Mail.app (Tiger) want to synchronize this entire tree of folders, but I don't have permission to access them all, so I get a ton of messages telling me there was an error. Like this:

This error pops up for every folder that I don't have access to (1500+) As soon as I hit OK, it give me another error for the next folder. I don't want to give up on IMAP in mail, but this is just unuseable.

Is there anyway to make Mail just sync my own mail folder? It's driving me nuts.

Did you ever find an answer to this. Mine does the same thing and asks for my password dozens of times before giving up and telling me I don't have access to the IMAP folders that I never asked to see in the first place.
