Has anyone purchased Quicken 2006 yet? If so, is it like every other quicken update, where there are really no new features, just a new set of icons? From what I can tell, they haven't implemented any of the functionality that I'm looking for (tracking 401k stuff). If you've purchased it, let me know if you think it was worth the upgrade price!

FWIW, I'm still using Quicken 2003.

I'm still using 2002, but I read some things recently that might get me to spring for '06. One is .mac backup, but truthfully, I already transfer my backup file to idisk anyway, so that might not be enough. I will say that it's the first time in several years I'll look seriously at the upgrade.

If this "upgrade" STILL matches downloaded transactions with previously cleared items in the register a purchase isn't even remotely a consideration for me.

I'd buy if it worked with all the same financial institutions that the PC version does.
Intuit/Quicken's artificial separation of not supporting an equal set of institutions pisses me off. Basically, each financial institution must pay an extra fee to Intuit to support the Mac. Those that don't pay up don't get Mac support, desipte the data files being virtually identical.

Grr....

I wish Microsoft would port Money to Mac... say what you will about MS, but I've never had a problem with Money and I've been using it since V1.0.

Quick update...I believe that it is already out, but supposedly this is the buggiest version yet. There are several reports of data file corruption, plus several reports of Quicken 2006 not even booting up. Be careful if you purchase this version! I think I'm going to stick with Quicken 2004 for a while longer!

Re the data corruption...Do you know if this corruption is limited to Quicken files or does it migrate to other data/files?

Also, have you the links of the cited reports so that I may read the details?

TIA

there is already an "R2 updater" released to fix a few of the bugs.

I am still using an old version....I used to upgrade it every few years but there is nothing in the last few versions that made me think i needed to buy and what i have works fine for what i do.....

Does anyone know if version 2006 is still limited in terms of financial institutions from which it can download data, or is there more parity with the PV version??

I haven't upgraded in quite a few years, either. They never seem to add anything that's worth more than adding a ".1" to the version number.

Does 2006 at least recognize scroll wheels in all the windows?

I saw most of this information on another Mac website (http://www.macintouch.com/quicken2006.html), and I've also seen quite a few postings on the Quicken Forums. (http://www.quickenforums.com/) I also had a friend who personally installed this on his computer and had his quicken data file ruined. (It was backed up before hand, so no data was lost)
