Hey, I'm going to be a freshman at Miami University in Oxford,OH this fall and I recently picked up Office 2004 Student/Teacher Edition for my iBook. Anyways, I'm really proficient in Word and PowerPoint, but I suck at Excel. Does anyone know of good sites that do a wonderful job explaining how the tricks of Excel? Because, Office 2004 doesn't really have a good tutorial. Thanks for the help.

Howdy. There are many sites that are excellent for Excel, mostly Windows oriented, but there are a few of us Mac users too; I use XL 2003 at work and XL 2004 at home. I try to visit every day. These sites are the best. Search for articles, and search the message boards on both. World class users (evidenced by their awards, but especially by their knowledge) provide answers, and first time users show up every day. There is a wealth of info (Mr. Excel also has several recommended links):

Mr. Excel.com

Ozgrid

VBA Express

and a recent addition:

Office Articles

They will pay great rewards if you search carefully. Almost all that works on the Windows side of Excel works on the Mac side (except ActiveX Controls and Pivot Charts), and some of the VBA works, some does not. 99% of your work should be fine for cross-platform learning and sharing files.

Wish you well.
