Hi guys!
Well I was going to search for songs from the good old 80s on the iTMS. This isn't really possible is it?
If I wanted to see all songs (they have) released in 1982 -- well I can't can I?
One reason being they sometimes label the release year of a song or album after the year it was re-released, re-mastered or just released digitally.
The other being that there is no option to filter songs by year or years.
Well, in case I am wrong I decided to ask you guys if it really is like this. So, uh.. is it?
Right, thanks in advance and happy iTMS browsing!
cheers

Control click on the TableView's Column Header, and click on Year. This will add a year Column. You can now click on that to sort by year.

You can create a smart playlist.
iTunes File>New Smart Playlist
Check the box "Match the following condition"
Select "Year" "is in the range" "1980" to "1989"

He's asking about the Music Store, not playlist views.

I think the best you can do is view the Billboard top 100 chart from the years in which you are interested.

Yes, thanks for the suggestion. A limited solution because not all good music made it to the Billboard top 100
iTMS should really offer a "by year" search - but then they'd have to change a lot of data. (i.e. some songs are listes as from 2002 when they are from 1984 in reality. The re-release is from 2002)
