It just doesn't seem to cut it for me. I used to use SpamBayes on Outlook, and I DID train that excessively, but next to nothing got passed it. Maybe 1/500 spams got passed it, and I had zero false positives for over two years, including newsletters.

Is the Mail filter Bayesian based? Is there anyway to tweak it so the threshold is lower? Some of the spam it's not catcing seems quite obvious with the words "medication" and "prices" in the same sentences. If tthere is no way to do this in Mail, would you recommend any addons to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

I downloaded Junkmatcher yesterday, It might be of interest to you if you want to refine your filtering ability. It seems a bit complex, but it has some default settings you can use to get started. It works with/without the junk filters in Mail, but I don't know if it would work with SpamBayes.

SpamSieve is a good program also - and easy to use with excellent filtering.

JunkMatcher 1.5.9 integrated SpamBayes so now it also has Bayesian filtering capability.
