hi, guys. i am a new mac user. i am loking for a suitable text editor for mac, like nedit and gedit in linux, which can highlight keywords in programming languages.

can anyone give me some ideas? thanks.

I like SubEthaEdit, but many people say TextWrangler is better. Both are free for non-commercial use.

thanks. but do you mean that bbedit is not free? i've just downloaded bbedit, but only have 30-day period free trial.

Yes, BBEdit is not free.

BBedit is not free. But the target audience are html coders. If you do real programming languages you can use TextWrangler which has the same functionalities minus the special html tools. TextWrangler is a great value for coders.

Or try jedit. This is also very powerful.
Nedit, vim and emacs are also available for mac (nedit only as x11 application).
