My football team's TV service (and presumably any of the services ran by SKY TV) requires a version of it with DRM support... something the current Mac version doesn't have yet. Anyone know what's happening... I sent some feedback to MS and they never got back to me.

I'm just as eager for an update as you are. As much as I hate WMP, It's sort of a necessity. Argh.

A few more Windows versions need to come out first...and then the Mac version will be updated.

It is unlikely WiMP for Mac will ever support the Microsoft DRM. If you need WiMP DRM then I can only suggest you buy Windows. After all, it is about what you need and beggars can't be choosers -- or something like that

but I understand that flip4mac is working on implementing the DRM. I think I read it in their forums. good for them.

Neither does the one from Microsoft.

The flip4mac plugin doesn't support WiMP streaming, which is a pity. Regardless, I use it. The QT interface is so much better than the WiMP for Mac interface.

Just what on earth *does* the Mac BU do with their time? Messenger 5 actually removes function that was in 4, that being dock icon changes to reflect status and there is still no handwriting or cam support or support for spell check. WMP hasn't been updated in ages, doesn't support DRM and is terribly inefficient in comparison to other media players. I updated VPC to 7.0.2 and networking is NOT working. Still works in v6, however. There's no way to view those 'print to document' "TIFF-based" things from the PC version of Office. They dropped IE.

Why are we putting up with this? Is the current Office (still on v. X) so fantastic that it's worth all this other lame effort?
