Perhaps this will be of help to others...

Quicken 2006 (R2) would immediately crash upon launch. Disabling Unsanity’s Application Enhancer (APE) resolved the issue. I was able to verify this (on my DP 800/10.42) via several iterations of disabling- enabling APE.

I don't know if the genesis of the problem/conflict is with Unsanity's APE or with Quicken 2006, but for sure I did not have this situation with Quicken 2005.

can you just disable Quicken 2006 from within APE, or do you have to disable APE all together?

APE has a "Master Exclude List." Adding Quicken 2006 to that fully resolved the issue (I think).

The other APE functions/processes are then left as they were.

ok cool. i had to do the same thing with studiometry, but its much better than disabling the whole thing. is Quicken 06 worth the upgrade?

Further study indicates that Menu Master is the problem child. I don't know if there are others, but for me, just "excluding" that did the trick.

Still a bit early to know if 2006 is worth it. Perhaps if you have a .Mac account and do on-line bill paying/banking interface, but for others, if you were happy before, I doubt if I could justify the expense.

Just curious...

Since this issue didn't occur with Quicken 2005, is the "fault" with Unsanity or Intuit, or can ya even tell?

Unsanity just advised that: "...this is a known issue and will be addressed in the next update..."

Kudos to Unsanity for working the issue and not blaming others.
