I am running OS X from an external firewire drive because my internal drive is broken. For some reason, my system hung up as I was using it and Azureus was open and I force restarted by holding the power button.

However, when I relaunched Azureus, I found that all my downloads were emptied.

I've had crashes like this from my internal drive and Azureus always recovered from the crash without emptying the files. Why would the firewire drive be different?

It's really bugging me because running the system from the firewire drive seems more unstable than from the internal so I get more crashes. I've lost nearly 2 GB of downloads.

Is there a way to prevent open files being destroyed when a crash happens?

I am having the exact same problem and lost gigs of downloaded. I am using 2 LaCie Mini firewire drives.

Did you manage to get this problem resolved?
