Remember the old pre-internet days of dial-up information services with a pure text interface like the original Compuserve? More importantly, remember those simple "comm" programs we used to access them? . . . an automated dial-up/log-in script followed by a plain text terminal window.
Well, I need one of those to run under OS X, and I have no idea where to find one. I don't even know what the appropriate description would be. Everything I try on Version Tracker just yields tons of interenet-based tools.
In case you're wondering. There are still a lot of services out there - like aviation weather - that are still available in a pure text/teletype format, which can be very valuable when you're on the road with only a slow dial-up connection available. (Also, they don't require an ISP account.)
This is about the last reason I have to use Classic mode on my PowerBook, and it would be nice to find a way to do this under OS X.
Ã…nyone know of such a program?
